The Hunting Guide
How It Works
Hello! So your character has decided to hunt? Well here is all of the information, you as a roleplayer, needs to know in order to properly hunt on Ebon! Keep in mind, you do not have to hunt in order for your character to survive. Hunting is meant for a way for you to explore injuries with your character and help provide a way for Leaders to keep up their Faction Log. There are also creatures that don't exist on earth that do exist here on Ebon. These creatures can drop ingredients used by the Alchemist Talent, they can also be used as offerings to a God or Goddess you have wronged or would like a blessing from! They don't come without risk however, as serious injuries can occur when you face beasts of all kinds.
Regular Creatures
Regular creatures are just like the ones you find here on earth, they can have different coloration's but they lack a soul stone and instead reproduce as they do here on earth. They have different rankings depending on the creature that's hunting them, it's these rankings that change how the outcome of your hunt will go and the injuries you may face.
Easy Creatures - These creatures are small and effectively harmless, you may injure yourself in the chase rather than a fight. Creatures under this category are Squirrels, Rabbits, Ermines, Ducks, and chickens, any creature weighing less than 25 pounds fall under this category.
Moderate Creatures - These are creatures that can be harmful if you aren't careful, they are larger and faster than a character might be ready for. They can fight back if cornered but are often flight over fight. You might find your injuries more substantial than if you were to try and hunt an easy target, but you will have far more food. Creatures that fall under this category are geese, deer, sheep, goats, cattle, elk, caribou, wildebeest, zebra, and anything between the range of 100 to 300 pounds.
Advanced Creatures - These are creatures that are difficult to take down and can kill a character if you aren't careful. These creatures often fight back and are more often then not fight over flight. These are only for the most experienced of hunters and even then you might not succeed. Creatures that fall under this category are moose, buffalo, bison, horses, and any creature larger than that before this category.

Magical Creatures
Magical creatures are specific to Ebon and are extremely difficult to take down! They don't possess a soul gem and aren't born like anything else on Ebon. Instead they spawn from the elements that their gods are formed in and can be found in the more remote places of Ebon. They can use simple magic and are more aggressive than a severe hunt but will leave a creature alone if they feel as though they are no longer in danger. They also can drop items specifically for the Alchemist Talent!
Dawn Goats
(Glowing Horns)
These are the creatures brought fourth by Lumes and are created in her likeness. They are a glowing and powerful creature with sharp horns and hooves. They can also cause light damage by blinding and first degree burns. When killed they revert to that of a normal goat except for their glowing horns and can provide a golden pelt.
Tiger Shades
(Eye of Shadows)
These are the creatures born from the shadows of Atax and are just as strong as his will. They are a deep purple in color and are deadly with their large claws and fangs. Be careful as they tend to blind their victims if one gets to close. When they are killed they revert to their normal form but their pelts remain a dark purple hue and their eyes are still shadow filled and perfect for alchemy.
Heaven Swans
(Floating Feathers)
These are the creature born from Volance's wind and are flighty and cautious. They are transparent as if made out of wind themselves. Do not be fooled as their wings can cause severe damage with a move similar to that of Wind Scythe. When killed they evaporate leaving behind feathers that must be caught quickly before they float away.
Tempest Stallions
(Charged Hooves)
These are the creatures created by Lumen and are made as a replica of himself and his power. They are stallions in a dark blue shade but transparent. Not as much as Volance's swans but still look as though their made of the clouds in the sky. Lightning strikes through their bodies like a mini storm and are extremely dangerous as they are just as powerful. When killed their body disappears with a boom of thunder and leave behind lightning filled hooves that are shocking to the touch.
Aqua Pheasants
(Dampened Down)
These are the creatures brought fourth by Neptis and are made like that of his element. They appear like moving water and are fluid in their motion. With sharp beaks and talons they are surprisingly dangerous but are far less aggressive than any of the other creatures. When killed they leave behind nothing but feathers made from the same type of water their bodies are originally comprised of.
Terrabrush Lions
(Lion's Mane and Lioness Claws)
These are a curious mix between the Lion twins Therris and Cerulle and are made like that of their elements. A rocky earthen body with vines and other manner of plants growing in the cracks. They are dangerous with their ability to alter their shape to avoid attacks and lash out with their whip-like vines. When killed they revert to that of a normal lion or lioness, depending on what was originally seen, and leave behind earthy brown or green pelts as well as locks of a flower mane and obsidian claws.
Smoldering Hares
(Heated Bones)
These are the creations of Cerauno and were made in fun to her least favorite sibling. They are hares made of pure smoke and flame and are just as cunning as their creator. They can burn those who attack them and are quick and daring. When killed their smoke fades away and the flame filled flesh melts away to reveal still smoldering bones that never seem to lose their heat.
Coral Hounds
(Wolf's Blood)
The seemingly innocent creatures created by Fara. They are made to poke fun at her rival Hemal as they take the form of a wolf but bright pink in color. They are dangerous in their strength and larger size than that of a regular wolf and their bite is something to be feared. When they are killed they leave behind a pink wolf skull and a vial made of pink crystal filled with a deep, red wine colored blood. When the blood is used the vial remains for further use until shattered.
Deer Wraith
(Velvet Antlers)
These are the creatures of Hemal and her seemingly dark powers. They are rotting deer, made to poke fun at her rival Fara. They are in a constant state of decay but smell surprisingly pleasant despite their appearance. Ignoring their decrepit appearance they move with swift agility and have extremely sharp hooves, horns and have carnivorous teeth. When killed their flesh disintegrates leaving behind velvety horns.

Well now that you know some of the creatures how do you actually hunt them? In order to hunt a creature officially you need to have posted in a thread with your character getting ready to hunt. That means in the post they must be ready to stalk, have seen their target, or are currently tracking their target. The creature they are hunting can be named in the post or not, if the character is not sure of what they are taking on that is fine as there are many different creatures out there. You may not attempt to hunt another character and may not start a spar to try and kill another character because your character believes them to be food. You may attempt to pounce on them or stalk them, but no injuries may come to another character because of the reason above. This is because all playable creatures have a soul stone in which normal creatures lack and that creates a distinct difference for any character to notice.
Now that you have your target picked out and your character is ready to go you need to head on over to the Hunt Request forum and post a request! From there Staff will handle things and then post to your thread with the outcome. If you have the Hunter Talent, then you may choose between two sets of numbers. You may NOT mix and match the sets, each injury and outcome goes to one set each.
No matter the injury or whether or not it is successful, you must have your character respond to it. The injury you take is up to you, all the dice have done is decide the severity of it. These injuries do not just go away, your character will have to heal from it and you cannot just ignore it. You cannot change an injury once you have posted it. If you need to edit an injury receiving post please ask permission from a Staff member to do so. The different types of injuries are below, keep in mind that these are just examples and you may use your own version of an injury, but be mindful that if you accidentally take a more severe injury then it will stay and you cannot change it.
Light Injury - These are injuries that will not affect your character much. They are little things that you notice at first and then carry on your way. Examples of light injuries are scrapes, scuffs, bruises, scratches, even stubbing a toe or getting hit relatively hard in the face with a branch counts! Be mindful, as these can be a little bit more troublesome if they pile up.
Moderate Injury - These are injuries that will affect your character quite a bit. They are relatively noticeable and will affect your creatures day to day life. Examples of moderate injuries are sprains, cuts, first degree burns, second degree burns, thorns that get stuck under the skin, and certain types of bug stings. Be mindful of injuries that break skin as they can get infected if not treated, sprains can worsen over time and can completely destroy a muscle or tendon.
Severe Injury - These are injuries that will require immediate medical attention. They are life threatening and will kill your character if they are not treated properly. Staff will post specifics of the injury you have taken and steps you can take to try and heal your character. These injuries however will have long term affects, such as limping, scarring, or even disorders such as long term memory loss. Examples of severe injuries are concussions, deep gashes, internal bleeding, ruptured organs, and broken bones. Treat these injuries with extreme care and are extremely painful.
