Sprawling through the northern lands are a paragon of dominating canopies that rise into forever. The Redwood Forest is a dizzying marvel to those who pass through, with trees said to be as ancient as the gods themselves. A soft mist drapes the ground in much of the forest, which makes travel at night dangerous.
The sprawling domination of the Redwoods gives way to a landscape of flat grasslands and rolling hills. The space is so open here that it can be overwhelming upon leaving the forest, but many say the stars are their brightest and most dazzling here.
The lake is a sight to behold shimmering in the light, it can be seen from miles away for the water and for the dazzling landscape of flowers. In the winter the color is choked from the land, but when the weather it favorable, the lake's flora cast a magnificent glow against the night.
The easiest way out of the northern lands are through the canyon, an impressive feat of nature carved over years and years to make a sheltered path out into the south, many travelers leave and enter through here, and the paths are well worn with many pawsteps.
The Starfall Peninsula is a jut of land into the ocean and is known for it's bleach white sand and appropriate flora. During the day this place seems rather bland compared to the other lands near it, including the Silver Undergrowth. However at night this peninsula earns its name, with stars falling across the sky seemingly from out of nowhere. They streak across the sky in silver lines, with never a dull moment after the sun has fallen.
The Jeweled Oasis is a wonder to behold with its bright flora. Surrounded by sand this oasis is a large lake full of bright, clear, blue water that is always cool. The water is surrounded by all manner of flora that seem just a bit to vibrant for their species. There are many trees similar to that of a palm only they bloom with marvelous fruit. These fruits appear to be gems, ranging in size from grapes to grapefruits and when eaten can heal minor injuries.
The Silver Undergrowth is a land aptly named due to the massive amount of flora that runs across the place. During the day the place is full of color and vibrant, one can even find a corpse flower or two if their not careful and can easily get lost in the thick brush. The trees that hang overhead block out most of the sunlight, making the place dark yet it remains bright and cheerful. During the night however the plants turn to a silver and gold sheen under the moon. Each one casts the most soft of glows making the place feel ethereal and otherworldly.
The Towering Peaks is just beyond the Silver Undergrowth, and although the plants here are normal they still are in abundance. They are segmented however by the towering cliff faces that jut out against the land like vertebrae. They are taller than the mountains and volcanoes in this world but have many paths and caverns to explore. It is a perfect place for the winged creatures of this world to dive into.
The Purple Heart Forest is a wonder to behold, home to the very tree it's name posses. The trees here are solid purple in color, not just the inner wood but the bark as well. The leaves and flowers of such a tree are a light lavender in color and smell like that of blackberries. While the main flora species is the tree one can find much shrubbery and several insects, mainly beetles, that glimmer like jewels. Be careful when attempting to capture such specimens as they are known to have a harsh sting.
The Ember Mountain Range is a spectacular sight. It's height rivaling that of the sky and is ever green and dotted with all manner of plants and vegetation. At night the mountain comes alive, pulsating with a molten orange where obsidian glimmers in the day. It looks as though it has just erupted, but this is nothing more than an illusion. If one were to take a piece of the obsidian home, they would find that it will have lost its fantastical properties and instead is a normal piece of sediment.
The Serpent Canal is a stretch of water that runs along the Ember Mountain. This river is temperamental and while some days it may be peaceful, on others it can roar and sweep away anything that dares get to close. The only thing that seems to survive with regularity within the river is the flowers. They come in manners of red, purple, and blue and they float along the currents or grow in clusters along the bank. However they leak dye into the water, making it rather disgusting to drink from if one is a carnivore as the bitter taste of plants overtake the refreshing taste of water. The flow of the river shimmers with these colors of red, purple, and blue, and stain the banks and the mouths of whatever it touches.
The Amber Springs is a group of hot springs in secluded spots along Ember Mountain, These pools are ringed by white granite, speckled with grey, and is polished due to the constant water flow. These springs are perfectly warm and full of turquoise water that glimmers in the sunlight and glows softly underneath the blanket of stars. Many animals may come to call this place home and you can often find these smaller creatures bathing within the waters.
The Crystalline Desert is one of the most beautiful and dangerous places to visit in Ebon. The desert itself devoid of any water for miles and instead is filled with a mixture of glass and sand. The sand and glass mixture reflect the color of the rainbow, shimmering beautifully in the sunlight. In he evening the sky is so packed full of stars that one can hardly see the inky black of night. When it rains it rains glass, if one finds that they get stuck out in such a circumstance they would want to take shelter in the metal domes that are scattered throughout the land to avoid injury and of course to hear the beautiful twinkling music the weather pattern naturally provides.
The Sibylline Grove is not far off from the savannah and leads into the crossing. A strange grove of trees unlike anything else in the southern part of the world. It is covered in a luminescent orange grove of trees that stretch up almost as high as the redwoods in the north. The branches droop down to the lower parts of the ground and one will find the sap of such a tree to be a bright blue color and a perfect healing agent to illnesses.
The Dragnet Savannah is a curious place with it's peaceful plains of tall grasses and warm weather. That is until one notices the thistle and cotton like plants that roll across the landscape. They follow whatever moves past them and snap shut when touched, only to reopen seconds later when no longer disturbed. While they cause no harm while alive, when dead they can create some of the most deadly poisons.
An extension of the Sheltering Canyon this sleek rock face is far more treacherous to transverse. Dead Man's Crossing is deep within the canyon and far less traversed, it is the only entrance into the Underbirth which leads to seedy areas polluted with creatures of all types. Be careful, as it is easy to get lost in such a place.
The Aurora Mushroom Cavern is a large network of caves within the Underbirth covered in mushrooms that are almost as tall as the redwood forest. Each cap of the mushrooms could hold a small village upon them and they glow in different shades of orange, pink, and blue. There are all manner of small creatures that scuttle about in the underbrush of leafy ferns that shimmer with luminescent points on their leaves. The entire place never sees complete darkness and one can lose track of time if left there for too long.
The Basalt Abyss is an expansive body of black water, suitable to be drunk although no one is quite sure what gives it such a shade. It is the largest cavern in the Underbirth and the water itself is full of bioluminescent creatures, from fish to giant squids. The beach however is pure black salt, there is no sand or sediment but rather the salt seems to have been deposited from the water eons ago.
The Shimmering Enclave is a network of pathways both underground and above ground. Each leads into new caverns to be explored and stretch ever inward. The amount of pathways is unknown, but each one is encrusted with different colored glass pieces. They easily pass on different colored reflections whenever sunlight reaches them.
The Ethereal Barrens is a large stretch of volcanoes very much active and alive. Smoke pours and billows out into the sky and those who do not wish to be torched by the midday heat can find refuge in the many cavernous openings that lead into the other parts of the Underbirth. Black sand can be the only thing seen for miles other than the rolling rock formations of the land. Fire creatures reside here, and only the most experienced of hunters should wish to hunt here.
The Tree of Oris is a massive stretch of oak and maple mixture within one tree. The wood of this tree unable to be damaged as the figure itself is protected by the goddess it is named after. Large cocoons of the young are held high in its branches and when ready the cocoon lowers and the voice of Oris booms out across the world calling fourth the parents. Oftentimes those who come here are looking to find their own precious child or to try and contact Oris in an attempt for a blessing of mateship.
