Long ago before there was anything, not life, nor death, nor the sky above or the ground far beneath. It was the void, not a single star in the distance, nothing but pure inky blackness. It was from this place that a spark had formed, she was all that encompassed the void and she declared herself Oris. She exclaimed to the all in the void that could hear her that she was The Guardian of all that remained in the world of nothing. She was bright and warm and full of energy, soaring through the void and filling it with her brilliance. Her mind was that of creation, filling the void with new things that she tinkered with as a child. Little planets and stars that shone within the void and painted it with the colors that one could see today. So many times she burned out only to return in a flash of flame and color, a Pheonix was the very first creature she had imagined, taking its likeness as to be that of herself despite her having no form.
She then created the world known as Ebon, it was a fledgling little thing with nothing on it. No earth, no sky, no wind, nor rain, but it existed. A ball of energy, just needing to be tamed. That was when she met him, his darkness had been drawn to her light. Her beauty and strength to create such a form for herself. It was her that drew him forward and created the form of the dragon. His hide of the void, and a perfect balance to her brilliance. He declared himself Mortis, the counterpart and leader of the creatures she created. He was to be the order and her to be the chaos. Together their energies created the first, the ones who were born of pure cosmic energy and formed the terrain of Ebon itself.
Lumes the Ram, The Goddess of Light
She was the first born. She filled the void with the beauty of light, no longer the pure energy of Oris that would damage any normal living creature but rather the calming light of the sun and moon. She is known to be calm and calculating with a very rigid way of thinking. She is not an easy Goddess to please but is known to grace mortals with blessings every once in a while.
Atax the Bear, The God of Shadow
He was the second born. He calmed the brilliance of light that his mother and sister produced. His darkness was not that of the void but rather that of the softness. A gentle caress and yet held an undertone of danger that filled the place with a healthy dose of fear. He is arrogant but mature, aligning with Lumes more often then not when in contact with his other siblings.
Volance the Owl, The God of Air
He was the third born. He was the wistful and wise, carrying words upon wind and filling the world with clarity and gave it the seasons. The warmth and cold, brought fourth by the mighty beats of his wings. He is by far the smartest of his siblings but still holds a sense of humor and can be described as playful at times.
Lumen the Horse, The God of Lightning
He was the fourth born. He was the god of electricity, white fire that streaked across the sky in the same throes as his temper. Thunder rolled in the sky as he ran, his hoof beats far more powerful than the cry of any creature. He was the angry, the one with a temper and a taste for violence but only when the motive was pure.
Neptis the Hare, The God of Water
He was the fifth born. He was the god of water, flowing and ever changing. His attitude was that of carefree and taking life one day at a time. He was cooled in temper and mellow and yet gained the favor of most. He encompassed the world, not caring to contain his power and instead letting it flow over. He is one to be considered flippant and narcissistic in nature, knowing just how much influence he has over the world despite being younger that the others.
Therris the Lion, The God of Earth
He was the sixth or seventh born. His power containing the water and providing the world with solid ground. His temper creating earthquakes and mountains. He is steadfast and is the one who controls the earthen parts of the world. The reason he is stuck in limbo from order is because he is a twin to that of his sister. Neither backs down and claims that they were the one born first and Oris has yet to say anything on the matter. He is strong willed and steadfast, unwavering in the decisions he makes and tends to favor mortals that follow their heart.
Cerulle the Lioness, The Goddess of Plant
She was the sixth or seventh born. Her power covering the same lands that her twin's power had already claimed. She filled the world with flora of every kind. Her mind almost as creative as her mothers and filling Ebon with plants of fantastical species. With help from her mother she created flora that would even provide the world to grow ever onward with The Tree of Oris. She is kind and graceful, every growing and often provides creatures with what they need.
Cerauno the Fox, The Goddess of Fire
She is the eighth born. Her power greedy and all consuming of that it touches. She is mischievous and determined, a hard working force that is hard to contain and control. She dwells within the lava of the volcanoes and burns bright in the heat of the world. She is crafty and careful, knowing when to strike and when to comply. She is not one for foolishness and often turns towards mortals that are clever enough to secure their place within the world of Ebon.
Fara the Deer, The Goddess of Healing
She is the ninth born. Her power is provided by the creatures that had filled the world, her love for them boundless. She is the reason they are able to heal, to bring them back from the brink of death. She had blessed plants of her older siblings creation to try and provide them with as much assistance as she could. She is considered a matron of parents and often follows mortals that are pure of heart and do what they can to help others.
Hemal the Wolf, The Goddess of Necromancy
She was the final one created from the energy of her mother and father. Her power to bring back the dead and manipulate the blood of others being her specialty. She gives them a chance at reanimation and turning the power tides around. She is not evil and in fact loves the creatures she has blessed with this power. Her personality is aloof and she prefers to hide from the mortal plain. Those who earn her favor will have gained a powerful ally as not much is known about the young goddess.
They sprung from their creators and formed the world of Ebon. Opening up lands and filling it with their creations, making the world beautiful and shimmer with potential. That is when Oris had come up with a new creation, the very creatures that would fill this world. They came in all shapes and sizes and would bring prosperity to the land. They were the Eother, the sentient beings infused with the physical forms of both Oris and Mortis, no longer would the original creators be able to show themselves but in turn they had provided those beings with the ability to populate the world with their kind. Their soulstones mimicking the very power the creators had used to bring those who had formed the world to life.
