Crow Vella
A song was hummed through a closed maw as cream colored paws trotted along the sand of the desert she was traversing. She had been padding about for a few days, simply not staying anywhere. Usually she stayed in one territory, often near her brothers or fathers, but, she just felt restless. She still had the wandering blood of her life before, and staying on the move was just an innate need.
And so she did.
Lanky legs carried her across the red sands and barren terrain, green eyes scanning the sunny horizon, the sun high in the blue, clear sky, beating down. The humming quickly turned into a slight pant as she felt the heat soak into her dark fur. Her warmer weather coat had starting growing yes, but it was still thick in weather such as this. She let out a sigh and decided to activate Companion, and, within an instant, Emmett was at her side, his tiny legs stuggling to keep up with her long, smooth stride. 'Why am I here, you walking pile of reckless fur?' Crow heard reverberate in her brainpan. She chuckled. Emmett always had something to say, a remark as sharp as his teeth. 'Oh, don't be such a spoilsport, friend-o. Just needed someone tha share the heat with.' She said, nodding up at the sun. She often summoned Emmett when bored or when an unpleasant feeling was dominant. 'Of course you did. Maybe if you stayed near your family--' The opposum was cut off by the green glare that he felt upon his back. Crow lifted an eyebrow as she walked, almost daring her companion to say something else. He gave nervous smile before turning it into a look of irritation and continued to scurry on.
Soon, however, Crow began to smell...sea. She was near the sea! A perfect place to cool off. She stride began to quicken, much to the annoyance of her tiny friend, but she didn't care. Soon, however, she smelt something else as well. 'Borders.' She thought, her mood deflating slightly. 'Well, no sea frolicking today! Now, maybe we can go find-' This time, the opposum was cut off by a sharp growl. 'Nonsense. We'll simply see who's kickin' it here.' A howl went up, calling any who lived here to meet her. Maybe she'd get a home. Sure, she'd still wander, but a place of food and protection sounded nice.

Bjarni Idunn It was far to hot, even for springtime. The weather had been pleasant the past few days up until now, with no clouds and the sun baring down at him he thought it was to hot to even function. Thermal Balance had failed him due to his inexperience with the power, despite it's activation. So Bjarni was currently laying on his back begging for rain in his head, feeling the heat in his own thick tiger coat. He pretty much felt like he was going to be cooked alive at this point even in the patch of shade he had managed to hide away in. He needed to get up and move about soon otherwise he was ready to go crazy from the heat.
He flapped his wings, spraying sand everywhere as he shook himself clean. With some effort he was air born, using his weight to twist and turn within the air. The air was cool as it whipped around him, the beating of his wings matching that of his heart. His fur was still warm from the heat of the sun but it was bearable now. He was debating hunting down some new prey since most creatures would be stuck in a lethargic mood from such a heat, but a howl caught his attention first.
It was a border call, a wolf by the sound of it.
He smirked, figuring it was time to do his job as an Earl. He still had no idea what his King's name was, but he'd cross that bridge eventually. His wings beat against the air as he looked down at the ground, trying to get a sense of where the howl had come from. Soon enough a black wolf had caught his attention, an opossum close by as well. Two new members? Interesting.
He came in for a landing, spraying a bit of sand around himself while his paws landed on the ground with a soft thud. His three tails curled behind him, twitching and swaying with their own tempo as he took in the creature before him. He needed to take this casually but still proper, nothing to harsh to scare off the wolf. His King was a wolf, so certainly they'd get along decently well? Pack mentality and all that jazz.
"Hello, my name is Bjarni, Earl to Skalavik." He smiled, so far the introduction was going well.
"Who might you two be? Other than travelers on our doorstep?" He chuckled with a warm mirth to the sound.
They didn't look to be troublesome at least, no shifty eyes or bared teeth. If someone wanted a fight he didn't think they'd howl for attention. Granted the opossum was certainly a strange addition. He couldn't see a soul stone anywhere on it though, so now he was starting to second guess himself. Why was it so calm while next to a large predator such as a wolf? Or at the very least, why did it know to stop on a border?

Crow Vella
The woman sat upon her haunches, waiting for a response to her call with an airy demenour. Meanwhile, Emmett was fidgeting and seemed to be fretting like he always was. 'What happens if we're met by someone not so friendly? What're you gonna do then? You can't talk your way out of everything, you know.' The canine rolled her eyes and looked down at the creature. 'Says who?' She thought at him. 'I've talked my way out of fights before, I'm sure I can do it again.' She said, taking her green gaze off the worrywart of a companion and training her sight back on the horizon of the borders she stood on.
As she did so, she thought back to the times of old. Her past life. Her fathers and brothers. The cons they pulled, and the pull of their hearts to wander. She still had that pull, still had that silver tongue, and she knew it. Settling down in one spot to call home was all well and good, yes. She wished to do it one day. Find someone, maybe, and settle down. Maybe kids.
She chuckled a bit at that.
But she knew that while she'd always remain loyal to her family, she'd still want to wander a bit. She wanted to see and explore every nook and cranny there was, all for the fun of it. Of course, she'd always come home. She'd have to. Even when living her past life, she always felt the pull to go back to the places that she left, even if her family never did.
Her thoughts of her future and past were broken, however, as someone landed in front of them. That's right--landed. Crow blinked when she saw the large form of a tiger drop down in front of her, wings spread to show their glory. Something of a good natured smirk or sneer graced her maw as she took in the sight of the tiger. Wings and horns. 'Interesting,' She thought. In unison, she heard Emmett's comment rattle around her head: 'Intimidating.' She had a strong desire to roll her eyes once more, but bit it back as she began to listen to the tiger. Hm. Bjarni. 'Nice enough name,' She commented mentally. After letting the man finish, she let her voice drip casually off her silver tongue, as she often did. "The name's Crow. Crow Vella," She drawled, and then waved a paw at Emmett. "This is Emmett." She said, looking down at her companion. He gave a curt nod, keeping his gaze locked on Bjarni. 'Just in case he tries any funny business.' She heard him say. This time, she didn't fight the urge to roll her eyes. "Good grief, Emmett." Her gaze went back up to Bjarni. "He's my Companion. And a neurotic worrywart," She said, making sure to emphasize the last statement. "He's keeping such a close eye on you to make sure you don't mean harm. Though, I sure if you did, you would've wreaked it by now," She said, tossing the tiger a tilted brow as if she were asking if he did have ill will. Sure, she thought Emmett might be being a little ridiculous, but it was always better to be safe than sorry.
