WHO AM I?
[Overview]
Curious. Scholarly. Obedient. Relaxed. Laid-back. Friendly.
Heloise is not, by far, an energetic creature. Running or other strenuous actions are usually only reserved for situations in which he or someone else is in trouble, or when the pursuit of knowledge calls for it. This makes him very laid back and calm; he speaks in a low, lilted Romanian accent that could make anyone willing to relax settle down. Being so relaxed also makes him more obedient to commands. He is not a chaotic individual, nor finds much point in defiance when within an environment he finds comfort in. A friend, family, and clan-mates can be assured he will not say no to a command or request for no reason. Any sort of defiance always has a fair reason.
The caribou is a friendly creature, not above making jokes and having pointless conversations with people. He's not the most outgoing, but any who approach him won't normally be met with a negative attitude, unless he happened to be in a bad mood, which is rare to see.
Heloise has an affinity for herbology and healing, taught by former tribemates before the tribe's disbandment. He likes to study and look at plants, and finds enjoyment in putting his knowledge to the test via healing others. Some might think he uses his knowledge to help others, while in actuality he uses it because he simply just likes plants, and because he likes to be useful. An analogy to this would be how one becomes a firefighter not because they want to save lives, but because being one is a well-respected affiliation.
His liking for herbology makes him serious in his studies. He wants to be able to do more than just 'enough.' He wants to be able to do his job right. It is why so many people might catch him exploring the land for herbs to collect and study, or why some might be familiar with his perhaps unusual request to "eat this herb so I can see what happens." He won't let his subjects suffer though. If any harm comes from it, he will make sure to procure an antidote in timely manner. If he knows one.
[Phobias]
-Being too helpless to defend itself.
-Failing whatever deity saved their life.

HISTORY
[POST-Ebon]
Heloise was born to a small tribe of mixed species. He was parented by a caribou and a fox, both of whom were loving and cared for him. It was the fox who had an affinity for creating things, as well as another figure within the tribe that acted as the lead herbalist. It is from them that he gained an affinity for and knowledge of plantlife, something that he enjoyed learning about.
The group was disbanded when the leader met an abrupt but swift end: a deadly slip off of a cliffside, and the heavy crack of a gem later, the leader was no more. With no one willing to step up and lead, people dispursed. In reality, though, the leader had never died; he became cursed with a forever sickness, damned to spend the rest of his immortality weak and sickly. Where he is now remains unknown.
Heloise, alone and vulnerable, was one day attacked by a group of wolves. His weak knowledge in magic and natural affinity for being a prey animal made him an easy target. Though he ran, more wolves sprung from the woodworks to trap him. Though he fought--and ultimately managed to land some blows in--their combined power was still too much for him. While they were unable to get a solid hold on his chest (where his gem rested), one wolf did get a bitch of a bite on his right shoulder, deep enough to cause permanent scarring. All seemed to spell his end here, until a bolt of lightning from the sky went through both he and the wolves.
He remembers the incident, as well as the lightning strike, but not much afterwards. The next thing he remembers is seering pain and waking up to a wolf named Henke, who claims to have found him next to the dead body of another wolf. The wolf had apparently died of a heart attack. It was through Henke's help, combined with his own knowledge of herbs, that he is able to recover. Though not a full recovery--the nerves closest towards the hooves seem to be weakened--he is nonetheless alive, thanks to Henke.
It is because of this that Heloise joins Skalavik, both for protection and to pay back the debt he feels he owes Henke. The incident is also the reason why he believes so firmly in a god of fire or lightning; he wishes to one day meet them. To give them an offering, a thanks for providing him the chance to continue experiencing life.
