The caves were never dark. The energy of Lumes balances the somnolence of Atax's darkness. One may never find their senses deprived here, void of the stimulus of sight. Anatolia was no stranger to these enclaves. It had made a home here, and found familiarity in many of the caves. But none of the caves that it knew possessed what it desired.
A gift for Oris. Something that was promised to the benevolent Goddess; a promise the small fox would carry out. Both Sensate and Peaceful Aura were active, the former to help in navigating the unknown parts of the caves, and to help find what it looked for. The latter to calm the critters who were not used to larger, more noisy creatures searching through their homes. He was not interested in hurting any of them. He wanted only one thing.
Crystal glass. The perfect ones--ones that held the beauty of all perceivable colors. Ones big enough to be melted down and molded into something even more beautiful. A task that required patience, skill, and devotion. The outcome of it all would be beautiful, but it knows that Oris does not care for just beauty. She cares for intent, for effort.
This would be the first step to her gift: finding the materials.
With satchel in hand--a temporary item given to it by a traveler thankful for a meal--it would collect sizeable glass pieces of all colors and shapes. Each color would be different, but they must all be brightly luminescent. They must all have luster, must all be reflective. This task would take hours. The travel to find the perfect ones and collect them safely was a tiring endeavor. Not for the first time did the glass cut at its paws and make its pads sore. But it did not heal them--if it even could--instead endearing the stinging pain. Embracing it. This was for her. This was for Oris.
Hours later and the satchel would be almost filled to the brim. Every color imaginable--from luminscent velvet to sh immering emerald to radiant yellow--was collected. The shards were handled with great care, and as the tired fox made its way back to the surface, it uttered a prayer to the Gods.
“I thank you, Atax, for your calming darkness. And Lumes, for your guiding light.”
