Morgana Selanmere MADNESS IS A BEAUTIFUL IRONY
WHERE PERFECTION AND FLAWS MEET Morgana had been making arrangements within this place she called home, small structures being built oh so slowly by her own paws. It was a home for herself and her dearest brother, to which she had yet to show him such a building. A small meeting hall was under construction as well, her own form using her strength and size to move large planks of wood against the side of a large cliff face from their home to create it. They were crude structures, things she was struggling to create in her own way but were effective enough to give some semblance of order. She knew she would gain members with time, all she needed to do was sit and wait. Granted, waiting didn't mean she had to leave her home empty and barren.
So that was what she had been doing, building and cleaning, getting things livable in some fashion.
She had to stop for the day however, her legs aching from the lifting and shoving she had been doing the past few hours. She could only do so much every day and did have other responsibilities other than building, that includes what she was doing now. She was patrolling her borders for anyone nearby, wanting to bring in as many new members as she could. She wasn't above taking in slaves or willing members, they would be apart of her empire and that would be final. She wasn't going to give anyone a choice. Her venomous mind would infect those who opposed her and make them see reason, it was her way that would be their salvation after all.
Here she was, inky limbs trailing across the mountainous terrain with her tail dragging behind her. She whooped every once in a while, drawing in anything that might have taken interest. Her Brilliant Sight allowing for such a marvelous view in the fading light. Creatures didn't scatter very quickly from her Peaceful Aura allowing her to take in the small creatures that dotted her home. Squirrels and chipmunks were everywhere, occasionally she spotted a goose or duck, and deer scattered off before she could get a clear look. She wasn't surprised, but found it odd that the smaller creatures were less frightened of her than normal. Had she missed something? She wasn't sure, but kept her eyes open just in case someone finally decided to make themselves known to her.

VARIAN RUDDIGER If he was being entirely honest, traveling alone with only the things he could carry on his person was kind of beginning to be a drag, he'd valued his solitude and freedom for a while, but for one it was kind of lonely as hell, and two he barely had any tools to do anything more than basic concoctions and mixtures, he needed tools and supplies that he wouldn't find on his own. He needed a group to join, one of the factions he could convince to let him join.
As of late, he'd been following the sound of someone calling out, he was sure it had to be just the opening he'd been looking for, joining up with someone else had benefits after all, "there it was again," he mumbled to himself. It sounded like a hyena's call, rather than any canine or feline, and it was coming from somewhere around the mountains. He was wary, the same way he always was with anyone he didn't know, factions meant trouble from his experience, but they also meant shelter and resources and he was absolutely sick of being relegated to shitty wooden tools.
Varian absolutely loathed climbing, his long legs were ungainly and awkward enough just walking, nut the sound was getting louder the higher they climbed, and he soon found the owner.
She was the biggest damn beast he'd seen in a while, either way he ducked into the underbrush and eyed her so he could get a feel of the surroundings before he stepped out, "I...We heard your call?" He paused, trying not to look terribly nervous, it'd do no good to impress a beast like her, "it's just me, ah, Varian," he bowed his head respectfully, if only because she looked like she might just eat him if he didn't remember his Ps and Qs of respect.

Morgana Selanmere MADNESS IS A BEAUTIFUL IRONY
WHERE PERFECTION AND FLAWS MEET
The rustle of bushes made her ears prick up ready in case of a fight, only to find a creature before her of odd proportions. Avian legs decorated his front half with long locks of black hair tainted blue with a stripe. His stone was in the center of his chest, and blue spots glowed within his fur. Such a strange creature and far smaller than herself. Her head twisted and turned, taking him in like a snake eyeing a meal. Her shoulders followed with the movement, her stance dizzying and at the same time entrancing. She listened to him, taking in the name, Varian. She grimaced, all four eyes narrowing upon their target with a slight disdain. What good would he be? He best hope his mind was sharper than his body as she didn't see a very promising life for him here.
"Varian." The word was spoken slowly, as if tasting a lovely poison upon her tongue.
"You have heard the call of Morgana, Queen of the kingdom Ecadia. Here we honor the strong and the intelligent, what is the skill you are most proud of?" Her voice was low and controlled, saliva stringing between her teeth like threads of silk.
He was slight in build so she either expected him to have a form of intelligence she was in need of, or perhaps stealth. Her own strength was being tested, he was so slight that she could easily overpower such a small form. Take him regardless of his choice, become his salvation through the form of slavery. She would have patience, even with its feeling like venom seeping through her veins.
She missed her brother already, not liking being away from his side for so long. The blood and bone of kin being an almost forgotten memory that she dare not wish to lose again. Perhaps he would like this creature as a small plaything? It was a nice gift on top of the buildings she was creating. Perhaps she could use him to carry the materials, give him something to bulk up with. She would not voice these thoughts that tumbled around in her head like tepid ocean waters, but still they ever crashed into her subconscious mind against the rocks of conscious thought.

VARIAN RUDDIGER Whether it was true bravery or a simple lack of self preservation and good sense, Varian held himself like a wolf unafraid, even being that she was so much bigger and bulkier than him. He knew he was outmatched, and his own stance was still casual rather than any sort of physical challenge, but there was a casual and relaxed air as he studied her with his own intelligent eyes. He wasn't one for queens and royalty, but if she proved herself a creature that could be respected beyond rank, he could stomach living here.
"I hail from a kingdom far South from here, or, it was a kingdom," he laughed, a little cruel and bitter, "I felled the royal family for the cruelty and abuse they showed me, I poisoned every last one of them," he flicked his tail and looked up at her, "I'm an intelligent creature, an alchemist, I'm not afraid to do what's asked of me, even if it means I have to kill," he shrugged, "do with that as you will," he could run, if he didn't like what she had in mind for him he could run and he doubted he would be caught.
He didn't entirely like the way she was looking at him though, like she was planning every insidious thing she might do to him. There was a brief worry that he was leaving one hell and trading it for another, but he was sure he could weasel his way out of this situation if it came to it. He lowered himself respectfully, "will you have me?"

Morgana Selanmere MADNESS IS A BEAUTIFUL IRONY
WHERE PERFECTION AND FLAWS MEET She stared at him, eyes narrowing and widening every few seconds, gauging just how useful he might be. The ideas of what he could do when she took him into this glorious Kingdom of ash and bone. His words mollified her curiosity, the acid dripping from the canine lips making her own twisted smile appear. Death and carnage born from hatred and vitriol. How wonderful.
Her head tilted to the side, listening carefully to each word that spun past those lips of charcoal, like ashes on wool from the burning flame within his heart. That laugh hollow to her ears, like that of empty corridors that once held a love of the moon. She grinned, fangs gleaming in the moonlight like daggers painted silver.
"Death is a sweet melody we all must play one day, from each other's hands we swallow those sweet poisons from lies and deceit born out of pain and suffering." She giggled, her tail flicking behind her in an excited dance.
"Those who run from the abyss only find it sooner, but you have chosen a different path in life. Rather than standing still you have found your way to my doorstep, to a place born out of torment and misery." She licked her teeth in anticipation of the delightful secrets she would give unto him, allowing him the knowledge she was one of the few to know.
"Here you may become something of power, a place for your talents to grow and leave behind such awful emotions that defeat the heart. The place you take among the ranks, our Hunters who keep us fed, our Medics who keep us healthy, our Warriors who keep us protected, our Researchers who develop new things to advance our faction, and our Historians who educate us." She smiled with a strange sort of cruelty, her mantis antennae flicking with interest.
"Where do you wish to set your roots?" She would stop now, allowing him to digest the information.
Should he refuse he would become apart of her slaves, trained into thinking in the law of her land. His willingness to kill and the strength of his mind making him far more valuable as a working member, she would allow him to do as he wished. This was his choice now, choose a rank, or be left to wither away in the dirt with nothing but her commands upon his mind. The tepid bog of her reality would entrap all who entered as if they were no more than flies caught within her web.

VARIAN RUDDIGER Words. She sure used a lot of fancy unnecessary words, didn't she? He could have scoffed at it, what good were pretty words if nothing of value was said? He kept these thoughts to himself though, just standing easy and relaxed as he listened to her speak. He wasn't foolish enough to make any retort to the value in the words she was saying, but when she started to tell him more about what use he might find here his ears flicked up and he looked interested.
Those were words with value, he thought, tell me what I can do and where I can be useful. He still wasn't entirely keen on pledging himself to another up her own ass queen, he was still damaged and, despite himself, afraid that he would only trap himself into more cruelty and abuse. But she was giving him more of a choice than he'd ever gotten anywhere else, and he wasn't stupid, he could see opportunity where it presented itself.
"Researcher, huh?" He looked thoughtful, sitting back to run a clawed hand under his muzzle, "yes, that sounds like a place where I can be useful," he looked up at her and chuckled, "I'd like to join, give me a chance to help you build your faction up, as a researcher." He knew he was lucky, he was slight and she could have easily made him be whatever she wanted. It was more choice than he'd ever been given prior, and he already respected her more for that.
