Welcome to Ebon!
The Alchemy Guide
So you have bought the Alchemy Talent? That's great! Your character after having this Talent applied to them will be imbued with knowledge about the items listed below. Remember that these items come in tiers, in order to unlock the next tier you must have purchased the Alchemy Talent again. That means for all three tiers you must have purchased the Alchemy Talent 3 times.
In order for a character to create any kind of potion or tonic they must first find the ingredients. The first tier allows for basic ingredients and potions to be known, a character must forage for these ingredients officially with the forage roll requests. After they have obtained the ingredients they need they can then make the potion as they see fit. These don't have a specific way to be made so feel free to get creative! Your character may have a stash of these so long as they have made them IC, the ingredients do not go bad nor do the potions, just keep track of what you have made and used!
Below you'll find tier 1 ingredients!
Beehive Husk
The husk of a bee’s hive that has been dried. A beehive can be used in pieces or ground into a powder.
Moth Wing
Mainly collected for the powder that coats the wings, with a small bushel of them needed for several potions. Best collected at night as they are easier to see.
Bone Meal
Made through grinding bones and marrow to dust from any bones that have been dried.
Butterfly Wing
Mainly collected for the powder that coats the wings, with a small bushel of them needed for several potions. Best collected during the day as they are easier to see.
Bird’s Egg
Bird’s eggs are a good base in many common salves for the thickness they add and can be of any origin.
Garlic
Easily found by the strong smell, known to draw bacteria from a wound, can also be chewed to relieve a tooth ache.
Grass Pod
Found where there is grass, commonly eaten raw to soothe an upset stomach
Honeycomb
Taken from a live hive. It is especially useful for allergies and can also soothe a sore throat.
Large Antlers
Tough to grind down into dust but they have a similar effect as bone meal with a slightly more potent outcome
Lavender
Lavender can be used as an antidepressant with its pleasant aroma and used predominantly as a dye or calming reagent.
Juniper
The berries are often used to soothe stomach aches, while the leaves and greens of the plant make for an effective salve on injuries.
Tundra Cotton
Often used as a textile, to still bleeding wounds, but it can be dissolved in an acidic substance to neutralize the mixture.

Now there is tier 3, these cannot be foraged for and instead need to be hunted down! These are creatures created by the deities of Ebon and drop special items when killed. For more information on these creatures and what they drop head on over to the Hunt Guide. Once you have taken down on of these creatures you will have acquired one of their special items, the amount needed for each potion in tier 3 is dependent on which power you would like to have your character use.
The higher the level the more exhausted a character will be after using it, as their body is not used to that much magical energy. That's right! There's a reason those branches exist, that is because a character's body needs time to adjust to that much power. It's also why they must practice their magic at least 3 times before being able to move on! When a level 7 power is used through a potion the user has a 50/50 chance of passing out due to exhaustion. These powers granted by Alchemy also can only be used once per thread, unlike the common potions in tier 1.

As mentioned before you can create these potions in any way you see fit! So long as you have the proper ingredients there's no stopping your character! If you are using a potion you must have a link in your post as to where you have created it. Staff will not keep track of whether or not you have made it but we will keep an eye out for the link in your post. Other than that feel free to do as you wish! Happy creating!
